After many
years travel and life overseas, we returned to New Zealand and bought
17 acres at Huia on the West Coast of Auckland in 2003. It was the Dream and the
land we named ‘Tehuia’, the old native Maori name for the area. This land proved
inspirational and our quest to live an organic and sustainable lifestyle began
in earnest.
Though not
architects but with good professional help we designed and handcrafted the original Tehuia Twin Peaks and founded Tehuia Log Homes Ltd. Carefully and slowly we discovered the people with the passion and skills we needed. Very special people, willing to help us learn what we needed to learn, to fulfill
a growing demand for our simple style of eco sustainable log frame architecture.
